Psalm 144:1

This short Bible verse seemed an appropriate first real post on this blog, it is for me, the start and end of the Christian Journey. it is reliance on God, and a recognition of His place in the Christian life: as a rock...that is a firm foundation; and as a guide, a commanding officer, king and trainer, occasionally a drill sergeant when we need a bit of a kick up the backside.

This life can be full of hardships, horrors and trials but with the right training and the right trainer we can be fit to face whatever trials come our way.

Any new experiences can feel like a battle, like buying a house, starting a new job etc. there are so many hoops to jump through, maybe sleepless nights before these things come to fruition, but if we start from a realisation that we are trained, prepared and instructed by the living God then we know we have all the tools that we need, to be and do all that is required of us; even if we feel what is being asked of us is beyond us, that's when God's power and light shines the brightest.
